Louisville Consultations & Portrait Sessions

Memorial and Legacy Portraits for Beloved Dogs

During select dates in Louisville, Judy Reinford Photography is offering in-person consultations and portrait sessions for dog owners who wish to create a meaningful, hand-crafted portrait celebrating their dog’s life, character, and presence. These sessions are limited and designed for clients who value intention, artistry, and a fully guided experience.

Memorial Portraits - Thoughtfully Created to Honor a Life Well Loved

When a dog is gone, what remains is the relationship, and the desire to remember them well.

Judy creates memorial portraits using photography, digital artistry, and hand-applied acrylic brushwork, resulting in heirloom artwork that feels timeless and deeply personal. When recent professional images are not available, carefully selected older photographs, including phone images, can often be combined to create a respectful and beautiful final portrait.

During the Louisville consultation, Judy will:

  • Review available photographs and discuss artistic possibilities

  • Help determine composition, mood, and presentation

  • Guide you through size, finish, and display options

Each memorial portrait is created with care, experience, and sensitivity, honoring not just what your dog looked like, but who they were.

Portrait Sessions for Dogs Attending Louisville Shows

For clients attending dog shows in the Louisville area, this is an opportunity to create a finished painted portrait while your dog is present.

These sessions focus on capturing:

  • Expression and personality

  • Structure, balance, and presence

  • Details that are often difficult to capture in everyday photographs

Portraits are designed collaboratively, with decisions about composition and final artwork made during the consultation. This allows Judy to photograph with the finished piece in mind, ensuring the strongest possible result.

The Consultation Experience

Consultation & Design
Every booking begins with a personal consultation. This is where artistic direction is defined, reference images are reviewed, and the vision for the final portrait is established.

Portrait Session
Sessions are calm, efficient, and tailored to the dog. Whether photographing a quiet senior or an active show dog, Judy’s approach prioritizes comfort, patience, and authenticity.

Artwork Selection & Planning
Clients are guided through artwork options during the visit, including size, presentation, and finishing details. Most commissions are reserved during the Louisville session.

Who These Sessions Are For

  • Dog owners seeking a meaningful memorial portrait

  • Show and performance dog owners ready to commission finished artwork

  • Clients who appreciate craftsmanship and a guided creative process

  • Those who value artwork created with intention, not impulse

Book a Consultation

Judy Reinford is offering private, in-person portrait consultations in a quiet, comfortable meeting space at the Louisville Crowne Plaza. Sessions are available by advance booking only and are limited in number. If you are attending dog shows in the area or wish to schedule a consultation in Louisville, early booking is strongly recommended.

These 30-minute sessions are designed for dog lovers who want to talk through the possibility of a custom portrait, whether to honor a dog they’ve lost, celebrate a dog currently in their life, or plan ahead while they still have the chance. Each consultation is relaxed and personal. We’ll talk about your dog, your photos (or lack of them), and what kind of artwork would feel most meaningful to you. If appropriate, we can also take reference photographs during your session.

There is no obligation to commission a portrait. These sessions are simply a chance to ask questions, explore options, and have a thoughtful conversation about remembrance.
